Willie Sellars’ Dipnetting with Dad illustrated by Kevin Easthope has received gold in the 2015 Moonbeam Children’s Book Award-Best Picture Book.
The awards which were launched in 2007 are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators and to celebrate children’s books and life-long reading.
They are given in 36 categories covering the full range of subjects, styles and age groups that children’s books are written and published in today.
Also tied with Sellars, was Momma Tree, by American author Charles Long; illustrated by Christina Allen.
The awards medal ceremony are scheduled to be held in conjunction with the 6th annual Traverse City Children’s Book Festival in Michigan on Nov. 14.
