Cariboo resident joins Fair Vote Canada to call on House of Commons for proportional representation

A local Cariboo resident has joined the call for making 2015 the last unfair election.

Ken Grieve says he has been involved with the grassroots multi-partisan citizens’ campaign Fair Vote Canada since the federal election officially kicked off.

“The way the system we have now-first past-the post, is our federal government has 39.6% of the popular vote and 100% of the power and I wanted to do something that was proactive to perhaps change the system where your vote will actually count in a meaningful way.”

Grieve was collecting signatures on Friday at Boitanio Park in Williams Lake to send to parliament to call upon the House of Commons to immediately undertake public consultations across Canada to amend the Elections Act to ensure fair electoral representation.
