World Mental Health Day

The color purple was in abundance at the Canadian Mental Health Association Cariboo Chilcotin Branch as today is World Mental Health Day.

Bettina Egert, who is a family counselor, shares with us why it is important to be aware of mental health issues.

 

Egert says regardless of age, sex, or race, anyone can be affected by mental health.

Amanda Todd, who was a BC teen, lost her battle against personal mental health issues after years of bullying on October 10, 2012.

World Mental Health Day has been recognized across the globe since 1992.
This year’s focus of World Mental Health Day is schizophrenia.
