Cariboo Anglers Get Boost

The Cariboo has two new docks this year.

Stacy Webb is the Director of Marketing and Communications with the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.

Webb says one of the new docks is at Reservoir Lake, which is about 4 kilometres north of Williams Lake.

She says the only way for anglers to access it before was during the winter when it froze over.

Webb says the 2nd dock is at 10-Mile Lake near the boat launch.

She says the cost for the docks is about 10 thousand dollars.

Webb says the work was done in partnership with funding from the local provincial fisheries biologist with the Provincial Government as well as from the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation.

The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC stocks both lakes as well.

Webb says Reservoir Lake receives about 3 thousand eastern brook char each year while 10 Mile, which is a much bigger lake, gets 50 thousand rainbow trout fry and 25 thousand kokanee fry each year.
