As the dry season is largely in the rear view, the fire ban for the Cariboo region has been officially lifted by the Fire Centre.
Though small scale burning is allowed, larger scale fires still face restrictions says Fire Information Officer Emily Epp who explains what needs to be done to be cleared for bigger fires
“For people who are hoping to do larger scale burning – they need to apply for a burn registration number first. They can call 1-888-797-1717 to do that.”
Larger scale burning describes fires that are three plus metres wide and two plus metres high.
