Williams Lake Man Assaulted

A man was assaulted with a weapon in Williams Lake early this morning.

Corporal Dave Tyreman with North District RCMP says they were called to a resdience in the 700 block of Midnight Drive just after 1 o’clock.

He says it appears that a homeowner let two males into his home and that he was then assaulted.

Tyreman says they believe that this individual owed some money to someone and that this was a targeted incident.

He says police don’t feel the general public is at risk.

Tyreman says the victim was not seriously hurt.

He says officers attended the scene and a possible suspect was located nearby.
