Robbery Suspect Sentenced

A Quesnel woman, accused of robbing the Mac’s convenience store twice in the same morning, has been sentenced in Provincial Court.

Devlin Cassel, charged with two counts of Robbery, pled guilty to lesser charges of Theft and Assault and received a 12-month suspended sentence and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of 140 dollars.

Cassel was 20 at the time of her arrest.

RCMP were called to the Mac’s store on Anderson Drive at around 1 am on February 18th.

Police say a lone female, brandishing a knife, robbed the store of a small amount of money.

A search of the area failed to locate a suspect but RCMP say they were called back to the same location just a couple of hours later for another robbery.

Cassel was taken into custody later that morning at a residence on Dougherty Drive.
