Campsall Says ‘No’ to UBCM Environmental Resolution

Not enough information.

That was how the Mayor of 100 Mile House felt about the U-B-C-M resolution to form an Environmental Bill of Rights

There wasn’t enough information about how the passing of the resolution would affect the economies of smaller rural communities says Mitch Campsall who admits he voted ‘no’ on the issue.

They voted on it. I voted against it and it was only because we didn’t have numbers. It’s the way it was presented, they didn’t have details – the numbers – so I voted against it until they can provide them.

Despite hesitation from Campsall, Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb, and many other rural delegations to U-B-C-M, the motion passed and will be presented to the provincial government when the legislature resumes.
