Rugby Football Club seeking public’s help after their field is extensively damaged

A non-for profit organization that has operated school and public rugby programs for 30 years in Williams Lake, is still reeling after having their field heavily damaged.

President of the Williams Lake Rugby Football Club, Dean Fulton says they don’t mind if people are cutting through their grounds to get to the trails they ride on.

“But need to stay off the field, I mean we don’t have signs up that say that but you shouldn’t have to- that’s just common sense, but they decided it was going to be fun to go out on our field and do multiple doughnuts and spinning drifts around the field and chewed up the grass really bad and left a lot of ruts.”

Fulton says the damage to the Williams Lake Rustlers Rugby Football Club’s field on Ottoman Drive could be as much as $30,000.

He says the Club is still looking to hold who did the damage accountable for their actions and asks anyone with further information to contact them.
