Quesnel goes 5 for 5 at UBCM

The City of Quesnel was a perfect 5 for 5 when it comes to its resolutions at the Union of BC Municipalities convention in Vancouver.

Quesnel City Councillor Ron Paull says all five of their resolutions passed including one that was put forward by Mayor Bob Simpson and was endorsed by the Cariboo Regional District, the City of Williams Lake and the Districts of 100 Mile House and Wells.

It calls on the Provincial Government to deliver full allowable cut under the BC Timber Sales Program.

Paull also authored three resolutions of his own that passed.

Those were to direct the Provincial Government to direct IBC to resume providing financial assistance to drivers in need of windshield rock chip repairs, to allow the Chief Electoral Officer in a local election to notify voters of the withdrawl, death of incapacity of a candidate and to encourage the Federal Government to reverse the Canada Post decision to discontinue door to door delivery.

Paull says Laurey-Anne Roodenburg’s resolution calling on Ottawa to convene a public inquiry into the widespread violence against indigenous women was also very popular and passed.
