Prince George Man Charged in Quesnel Shooting Incident to go to trial

A Prince George man, charged in connection with a shooting incident in Quesnel, will go to trial on November 16th of this year.

Eric John Vining has elected to be tried by a Supreme Court jury.

Vining is facing several charges, including Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm with intent to Wound or Disfigure, in connection with an alleged incident in June of 2013.

Quesnel RCMP was called to a residence in the West Fraser Drive area where they were told that a man had produced a handgun, demanded money and then fired the gun.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

RCMP say the suspect then fled the scene in a pickup truck that was found on fire less than an hour and a half later on nearby Marsh Road.

Vining was arrested later that night in Prince George.
