Three different Quesnel organizations will benefit from a Community Gaming grant from the Provincial Government.
Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes has presented a cheque worth $5,500 to the Quesnel Live Arts Society, $4,500 to the Quesnel and District Heritage Association and $6,800 to the Quesnel Tillicum Society.
Tony Goulet, the Executive Director of the Quesnel Tillicum Society, says their money will be used for three different things…
“It was broken down into the upcoming Pow Wow we have in October, there was a breakfast program and we had put in for Aboriginal Day next year.”
Goulet says between $4,400 and $4,500 will be used on the Pow Wow over the Thanksgiving Day weekend, $800 will go towards the breakfast program and the rest will be used for Aboriginal Day in 2016.
