UPDATE
100 Mile House RCMP have confirmed the death of a male who went missing in the Valentina Lake area.
The man’s body was discovered at 12:45 p.m. by RCMP and the South Cariboo Search and Rescue.
RCMP confirmed the deceased matched the description of the missing man they had been searching for, and are now working with the Coroners Office to assist in their investigation.
The 55-year-old Sardis resident had been camping in the area for several weeks and had befriended many in the Valentine Lake Campground.
Next of kin have been notified and the RCMP extends their condolences to the individual’s family and friends.

100 Mile House RCMP are asking the public to avoid the Valentine Lake and Foresty Campsite location today.
RCMP will be working with South Cariboo Search and Rescue looking for a missing male in and around the Valentine Lake area just west of 100 Mile House.
RCMP will advise the public when the area is accessible again.
There is no risk to the public at this time.
No further information will be released regarding the identity of the missing male until the investigation is concluded.
