A Day in Fairyland for 8 year old recovering from double lung transplant to take place Sunday

A magical walk through the forest with funds going towards an 8-year-old girl’s recovery from a double lung transplant will be taking place at Quesnel’s West Fraser Timber Park Sunday (Sept. 20) afternoon.

Laurel Taylor’s mom, Michelle, says although Laurel still has a significant road ahead of her, her family is looking forward to coming home.

“We miss our home and you know I guess what I see you know living in a small town, sometimes we hear people make grumblings about Quesnel and the grass is greener on the other side, but we’ve been amazed by the support and love from our community.”

Laurel was diagnosed with Pulmonary Veno-Occlusive Disease on Dec. 15 with the only successful treatment for the disease being a lung transplant.

Laurel is currently at The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto with her family staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

The walk which will feature fairies, gnomes, and magical fun runs from 1 pm until 3.
