Province funds more health-care training spaces

The College of New Caledonia in Quesnel will be getting 18 new health care assistant spaces.

Minister of Advanced Education Andrew Wilkinson, made the announcement Friday in which the provincial government will provide $1.5 million dollars to nine public post-secondary institutions.

He says the funding which will provide a total of 183 new health care education spaces are to meet the demand for the delivery of health in communities throughout BC.

The College of New Caledonia campus at Burns Lake will also be getting 18 new training spaces.

The funding between both Quesnel and Burns Lake totals $306,000.
