Take Back the Night To Take Place Friday

The annual Take Back the Night event will take place in Quesnel Friday evening.

Sheila Norquay, the Administrative Coordinator at the Women’s Resource Centre, says they will meet at the women’s memorial at the bottom of Barlow Avenue by the riverwalk at 6:30.

She says they are unfortunately adding two more names to the monument this year…

“One of the names is Ehr Anderson, she grew up in Quesnel and was murdered recently in Burns Lake and the other name is Sandra Boyd and she was murdered in Northeastern, BC and she too was from Quesnel.”

Norquay says there will be speeches and songs prior to a march through town back to the Women’s Centre.

Take Back The Night events will also be taking place in Williams Lake and 100 Mile House on the 25th and 30th.
