All candidates forum to take place in Williams Lake

An all candidates forum will be taking place in Williams Lake one week from today.

Peter Smith with the Council of Canadians who have partnered with Thompson Rivers University to offer the forum, says it gives the public the opportunity to ask the federal candidates for the Cariboo-Prince George their questions.

“They will be able to ask whatever they want; we have no idea what they’re going to ask and we have no preconceived ideas or questions to the candidates.”

“Now the only candidate that may not come is the Conservative candidate Todd Doherty. Their office has not responded, but everyone else has.”

The forum which will take place at the TRU Williams Lake campus and will be moderated by Dr. Ray Sanders starts at 7 pm on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Smith says he hopes there will big turnout.

“Particularly with young people at TRU because everybody knows that the lack of interest from people under 26 and so forth is fairly high in the country right now.”
