Tour De Cariboo raises over $37,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Clint Ellis was the highest fundraiser for the 23rd Annual Williams Lake Big Brothers Big Sisters Tour De Cariboo held over the weekend.

Ellis from Williams Lake raised over four thousand dollars.

Other notable riders from Saturday’s tour, Paul Rohner finished first in the male rider category while Jenny Howell took top honors for the female riders.

Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson took part and finished first for male riders fifty-plus.

Williams Lake Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director Melissa Newberry was pleased with the turnout and surprised by the increased number in one of the rider categories.

“We had a lovely turnout,” she said.

“We had 57 riders participate this year. It was great to see everyone turn out. We had more relay teams than usual which was really good to see because it allows those people who just want to ride a little bit to still participate.”

The 23rd Annual Williams Lake Big Brothers Big Sisters Tour De Cariboo raised over $37,000.
