West Fraser to Celebrate 60th Anniversary

It will be a birthday in the making for West Fraser on Saturday as the company celebrates their 60th anniversary with free activities for the whole community.

Jordan Townsend, Sawmill Manager for the Williams Lake Division says it’s a way of saying thank you.

“We’ve had 60 years and we just wanted to put this on to say thank-you to the community, and our employees, and to the public,” he says.

The celebration takes place at the Cariboo Memorial Complex and Kinsmen Ball Park starting at noon.

Townsend says they’ll be having swimming, cupcakes, face-painting for the kids, and a bbq along with some booths to learn about the history and technology at West Fraser.

The celebration that is scheduled to wrap up at 4 pm will continue in 100 Mile House House on Sunday at Centennial Park with another day of free activities and food from 11 pm until 3.
