No Confirmation if Slumber Lodge will be demolished as owner puts up fence for security purposes

The owner of the vacant Slumber Lodge has recently erected a fence around the front of the premises for security purposes according to the City of Williams Lake.

This was one of a series of requirements the City issued the owner to take in part of a remedial action order.

There were no further details or confirmation on the other requirements or if the Slumber Lodge would be heading towards demolition.

Council voted in favor of a demolition order on July 21st.

The RCMP, as well as the Williams Lake Fire Department, have attended the Lodge numerous times due to reports of squatters, vandalism, and fires-the most recent of which occurred on July 4th.
