2.2 billion dollars was donated by BC residents to charitable and non-profit groups in 2013 according to Stats Canada.
Research Analyst, Martin Turcotte says the provincial increase stacks up quite well with the rest of the country.
“For BC the increase during that period was 47 percent compared to 2004 which is almost double than the national average.”
12.8 billion dollars in donations were made across the country in 2013.
41% of those dollars supported religious organizations.
