A Category 3 burn prohibition has been lifted east of the Fraser River.
The Cariboo Fire Center says Category 3 open fires, which include burning piles of woody debris, stubble, or grass, and using fireworks, sky lanterns, or burning barrels, is now permitted.
The prohibition of Category 2 and Category 3 open fires still remain prohibited west of the Fraser River.
The Fire Center reminds anyone planning to light a category 2 or Category 3 open fire east of the Fraser River to have sufficient personnel, water, and tools, and that a burn registration number must be obtained for Category 3 open fires.
