Dunrovin Park Lodge Celebrates 40th Anniversary

There was a big celebration at Dunrovin Park Lodge in Quesnel today.

The Senior and Long Term Care facility celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Tammy Buchan, a long time employee and the current program coordinator of the adult day program, says it means a lot to her personally…

“My parents both started working here when Dunrovin first started. My dad started in 1976 and he was a maintenance man and my mom was actually a health care aide when Dunrovin first started in 1975 so I was a young child coming in here,” she says.

“It was actually my first home.”

Buchan says she has seen a lot over the years.

She says Dunrovin started out with just 40 intermediate care beds but expanded to include an adult day program and a dementia care unit in 1996 and again in 2010 to also house Baker Lodge residents who needed extended care.
