South Cariboo Pool Results In

The results are in and South Cariboo residents generally support the idea of a new pool in 100 Mile House.
Results from a recent survey show that 62 percent said they, or someone in their house, would use such a facility if one was built in the next few years.
31 percent said no and 6 percent weren’t sure.
72 percent, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being very important, gave it at least a 7.
And finally out of the people who weren’t in favor of the project 54 percent felt it was too expensive.
A total of 400 residents were contacted to take part in the survey.
Complete results are available on both the CRD and District of 100 Mile House websites.
They will be reviewed at the next District Council meeting on the 21st.
The proposed aquatic center concept design has two main pool tanks including a 4-lane, 25-meter lap pool and a similar sized leisure pool with various play features.
It also includes men’s, women’s and family change rooms and potential multi-purpose space.
The project would require an increase in the residential taxation rate of approximately 135 dollars per 100 thousand of assessment.
