An injured man suffering from a suspicious wound to his leg and unable to walk was located in a wooded area near the Williams Lake Indian Band.
North District RCMP Cpl. Dave Tyreman, says the 34-year-old man was located Monday around 9 am.
“There was a local work crew in the area doing some work in the bushes what have you, in a wooded area and they actually came across this individual who was bleeding from an injury and they called 911 and got him the help that he needed,” he said.
“As a result of the emergency medical services people believing this to be a suspicious injury they notified the police.”
Tyreman says he could not confirm nor deny if the man’s injury was gun related.
The individual is not cooperative with police at this time, and RCMP are continuing to investigate. They ask anyone with further information to contact them or Crimestoppers.
The Williams Lake Indian Band Office was placed in lockdown shortly following the incident. It was later lifted before noon.
