Home Invasion Suspect Makes Court Appearance

A suspect in a home invasion near Bella Coola has now appeared in court.
41-year old Nathan Duperron, a local resident, appeared in Vancouver on Thursday and he will be back in Provincial court tomorrow for a Bail Hearing.
Duperron is facing 13 charges in total including Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Forcible Confinement and Uttering Threats.
The charges are in connection with an alleged incident back on the night of September 27th.
Bella Coola RCMP responded to a 911 call of a home invasion on Sawmill Road at around quarter after 8.
Police say they were told that a lone male entered the residence with a sawed-off shotgun and demanded money from the homeowners.
One of the residents was able to flee to a neighboring residence and call police after the gunman became distracted.
RCMP say the suspect was located a short time later hiding at the local harbor and surrendered without further incident.
