In their quest to fill a void on the back end, the 100 Mile House Wranglers turned to their own back yard.
Williams Lake product Kolten Carpenter – formerly of the Cariboo Cougars – will be joining the Wranglers this season.
Coach Dale Hladun describes the kind of game Carpenter will bring to One Hundred Mile House
“He’s 18 and kind of a rough and tumble kid. There’ll be moments where he’ll come back to the bench and there’ll be other moments where he heads to the box. But you gotta play with a physical edge and he definitely brings that.”
Carpenter should help solidify a Wranglers blue line that is currently in flux with only Josh Odelein a lock to return.
The 6’1″ 175lb defender scored 1g, 5pts, and added 67PIM in just 22 games with the Cougars last season.
Also joining the club will be lanky winger Kyle Lindstrom.
The Terrace-native spent last season with the champion Terrace midget squad.
Lindstrom has the size and pedigree that Coach Dale Hladun was looking for.
“Kyle’s a big strong winger with Terrace. I saw him in provincials with that strong Terrace club. He’s a real horse of a kid and has some pretty good hands for a big guy.”
Lindstrom played a depth role with Terrace scoring 8 goals and 18 points in 49 games last season.
