“Taking Back Our Streets” community meetings still a go says Graham

There are some citizens of Williams Lake who do not want the crime and gang problems fixed according to the founder of Guardian Youth at Risk Services who says they will still be having more community meetings to work on solving those very issues.

Pat Graham, one of the organizers of “Taking Back our Street” community meetings, says there was little support during their last meeting over one month ago.

“So myself and my wife, and Walt Cobb (Mayor of Williams Lake) and other people gathered up a huge list and we emailed everybody an invitation to a meeting-give us a date and time that they would be available so we could all schedule everybody in this together.”

“At this point and date, a month later, we’ve only had 2 answers back.”

Graham says despite this they are still planning to hold another meeting possibly this month.

“We’re not done by a long shot. We’re just getting a feel of where people are and where their support is.”

He says he has noticed there hasn’t been as many gang problems as before and adds that he would like to think that what they’ve started in getting the community to speak out is the reason behind that.
