It will be ice cream for a cause tomorrow at Dairy Queens across the country.
Chrissie Gertzen, Owner of the Williams Lake Dairy Queen says local volunteers who come in to help raise funds for the BCÂ Children’s Hospital in Vancouver is what makes Miracle Treat Day different every year.
“Usually our volunteers include members of the community like RCMP, corrections. Last year we had the Mayor here Kerry Cook which was exciting. Some of our local Councilmen come in, we’ve had Stampede Queens come in. My family always is great volunteers-they come in from out of town to help,” she says.
“It’s a wide variety of people who come in.”
The Williams Lake Dairy raised over $10,000 dollars alone through the sales of Blizzards last year to the Children’s Miracle Network which go directly to the BCÂ Children’s Hospital.
