Driver sustains serious injuries following collision between van and transport

A driver sustained serious injuries following a motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 just North of Lac La Hache Monday afternoon.

100 Mile House RCMP along with members of Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services responded to the incident involving a northbound semi truck and a southbound Mini Van at 2:10.

RCMP Corporal Clint Lange says the driver of the van sustained some fairly significant serious injuries and was airlifted to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops while a female passenger of the van and the male driver of the semi sustained minor injuries and have now been treated and released from hospital.

As for what happened in the crash, Lange says the investigation continues but what he can say is that one of the vehicles did cross the center-line and collided head-on with the other vehicle.

No further details are being released.
