UPDATE: Accident now cleared up on Highway 97 north of Quesnel

Highway 97 just north of Quesnel was down to single lane alternating traffic due to a single vehicle accident this morning.

Traffic is now moving again in both directions.

Quesnel RCMP Sergeant Darren Dodge goes over a few of the details…

“There was a vehicles from the Prince George Regional Correctional Center that went off road, off Highway 97 near 10-Mile Lake. There are some injuries, some people have been transported to hospital, nobody is suffering any life-threatening injuries.”

Dodge says the accident happened just after 10 o’clock this morning.

The cause remains under investigation.

The event was MC'd by the previous years Quesnel Ambassadors winners. The final decision on who will be the 2025 Quesnel Ambassador will be made tonight at 7 pm at Echen Hall.
