Two vehicle incident highway 97 north of Williams Lake

Update Tuesday, Dec 10: The Williams Lake RCMP continue to investigate a two-vehicle accident that closed Highway 97 late Monday afternoon.

It occurred around 4 pm and involved a Peterbilt tractor pulling a B train carrying lumber and a van at Lynes Creek Road 10 kilometers north of Wildwood.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron says both drivers are doing well and witnesses with any information on the crash are asked to call Williams Lake RCMP.

Previous story Monday, Dec. 9:  Williams Lake RCMP and Central Cariboo Search and Rescue were on scene at a vehicle incident earlier this afternoon.

It occurred around 4 o’clock involving a transport truck and another vehicle at Lynes Creek Road 10 kilometers north of Wildwood.

No other details are available at this time.

According to Drive BC Highway 97 is closed in both directions and an assessment is in progress.

Next update from Drive BC will be at 6:30 this evening.
