Likely Music Fest to celebrate community’s resilience

A music fest celebrating the resiliency of the community of Likely kicks off Saturday.

Lisa Krause, the Likely Community coordinator and also one of the volunteers for the fest, says the 2-day event is not about what happened close to one year ago with the Mt Polley breach, but what’s happening now.

“It is a celebration of really the resilience of the community of Likely and it’s also a fundraiser to put in a new well at Cedar Point Park. It’s a two-day family orientated event.”

“One of the reasons for doing this is to get people back to Likely to see with their own eyes we’re still here and it’s still as beautiful as ever in downtown Likely.”

Krause says camping is available for the event which takes place at Cedar Point Park.

She says this is their 1st festival and they had been planning to have a smaller country festival last year.

Tickets which include weekend passes or a day pass are available at the Williams Lake and Likely Info Centre, as well as the Valley General Store in Likely or at the gate.

300 people are anticipated to attend the event which will also run on Sunday and feature live artists from across the province.
