Oakes: We’ll Remain With Community of Likely

Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes was in Likely and Williams Lake yesterday to answer questions from the public surrounding the tailings pond breach.

Oakes says the provincial government will continue to remain behind the community and work with them.

“Again we have to make sure we are that we’re doing due diligence on the testing so we built confidence back, that look at what the cumulative effects are going to be for the community, and again to let the community know, we’re with them. We’re going to continue to be here doing the testing and doing the monitoring.”

MLA Donna Barnett and Minister of Environment, Mary Polak, were also in Williams Lake and Likely yesterday.
