Quesnel RCMP is seeking the assistance of the community to assist in locating 46-year-old Gerald Richard McLean who as of July 29 is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for parole violations stemming from violent offences.
McLean failed to return to a halfway house in the Vancouver area on May 7 and is currently unlawfully at large.
Corporal Dave Tyreman with North District RCMP Media Relations says Mclean could be in the North Cariboo as he has family in the area.
He is considered to be an experienced outdoorsman and prefers to be in rural areas where he is known to gold pan and live off the land.
McLean is described as a Caucasian male, 5’8″, 160 lbs, green eyes, hair color may vary, and tattoos on both upper arms. He may have a shaved face and cut his hair since this photo was taken.
McLean is believed to be armed.
If you see him, do not approach, but call 911 immediately and wait for the police.
