Williams Lake Studio Theatre launches seat replacement project

A project to replace 98 seats at the Williams Lake Studio Theatre has gotten underway.

Vice President Brad Lawryk says it’s a project that the Theatre has been working on for some time.

“Our current seats are we estimate probably around 40 years old so we put them in about 20 years ago and they were used then and we’ve done a survey over the last couple of years and the biggest complaint people have is our seating so it’s been time to replace them.”

“We did search for a couple of years for used seating but everything we’ve been able to find was either just as bad as we had or located in the States.”

Lawyrk says although each seat costs $300, any donation helps as the Threate also requires some other minor renovations and retouches such as flooring.

The Theatre which has no paid staff runs through volunteers and remains operational through the donations of local businesses and volunteers.

Further information on the project can be found http://www.wlstudiotheatre.com/renovations.php
