Body Found Near 100 Mile House Leads To Arrest

An arrest has been made in a 19-year-old BC cold case after a body was located near 100 Mile House.

At a press conference on Thursday, the RCMP E Unit  Major Crimes Special Projects media said the body of Angel Fehr was located on a rural property last weekend.

RCMP arrested Fehr’s boyfriend, 52-year-old Trent Larsen of Chasm on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Fehr was last seen leaving Abbotsford with Larsen on April 23, 2000, after a family dinner. She was several months pregnant at the time of her disappearance.

“Despite 19 years having passed, we have continued to follow up on every tip and investigate every lead,” said Superintendent Jeanette Theisen.

“In June 2016, the E Division Major Crime Special Projects Unit assumed conduct of the investigation and employed conventional and non-conventional techniques to advance the file, in the hope that someday we would arrest the person we believe to be responsible for Angel’s death. That day has finally arrived and we can only hope today’s announcement can bring Angel’s family some sense of relief and one step closer to healing.”

Larsen has been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with one count of Second-degree murder.

He will appear in court in Kamloops on Sept. 30.

The BX Morning Show

I first got into radio when I was a kid when a friend and I made our own radio shows on cassete tapes. Growing up in 100 Mile House, I did a workstudy at this very station.

Thanks to some good advice from my radio mentor Larry Rode, I got a certificate in broadcast arts in 1991. After failing to break into radio after school, I did other jobs but kept my hand in, working as morning host and program director at my universitys station, WUFK in Fort Kent, Maine.

Coming back to 100 Mile, when the afternoon and news job opened up, I took the dive back into radio! When Larry retired after nearly 35 years in 100 Mile, I took over the morning show. I’m happy to be at CKBX, where I always wanted to work, and waking up my hometown!

Tune-in with Chris weekday mornings from 6am to 10am
