The Cariboo Regional District’s Emergency Operation Centre has announced some small changes to evacuation orders and alerts due to the Puntzi Lake fire.
Effective immediately, residents south of Puntzi Creek who were previously on Evacuation Order, are now on Evacuation Alert. Approximately two properties are affected by this change.
All other areas of Puntzi Lake which are on Evacuation Order or Alert remain unchanged.
The CRD EOC says further changes to Evacuation Orders and Alerts will be determined as areas are deemed safe for re-entry and normal activities.
The Puntzi Lake fire is currently estimated at 8,089 hectares and is 40% contained on the southwestern flank.
