Quiet Bear Season in Quesnel

Nuisance bears have been at a premium in Quesnel so far this year.

Conservation Officer Joel Kline says things have really quieted down in the last 3 to 4 weeks, especially in the city.

Kline says it could be a sign that people have got the message and are keeping their garbage secured.

He adds that the hot weather may have also helped the bears may be staying in the shade, especially in the hot part of the day.

The last beware of bear sign that Kline says he’s aware of, in the West Fraser Timber Park area, should be coming down shortly if it hasn’t already.
