Enhanced Police Presence During Billy Barker Days

Roadblocks, an increased RCMP presence both on the road and on foot and zero tolerance for drinking in public.

Sargeant Darren Dodge, Media Relations Officer at the Detachment, says those are some of the things that people need to know heading into another Billy Barker Days celebration.

Dodge says they will once again be getting an assist from some of their neighboring co-workers…

“We have units from the Integrated Road Safety Unit from Prince George, as well as our North District Traffic Unit and the Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Unit from Williams Lake-they’ll all be here this weekend.”

Dodge says they’re not trying to ruin anybody’s Billy Barker Days, they just want to keep the roads safe and keep people who drink too much from ruining someone else’s celebration.
