Gallon Challenge Success! Trail Riders Association Paint over Graffiti

Residents of Williams Lake will have seen red when they looked upon the roof at the Trail Riders Arena at the Stampede Grounds Thursday morning.

Kia Bomstad and Glen Kitchen were busy donating their time to paint over the unsightly graffiti with special paint purchased through local donations.

Kisa says they had started at 5 am.

“Today (Thursday) we’ve gone through five-5 gallon pails by the time we’re done so that will be 25 gallons for half the roof,” she said.

“We’d also like to paint the lower portion where it’s also been graffitied. I think we’re going to have to raise a little more money to a get a few extra gallons for that-we’re probably looking at 10 to 20 gallons or so.”

Director with the Williams Lake Trail Riders Association, Debbie Fadenrecht says she had been taking donations for the last ten days to pay for the unique paint and adds that the Gallon Challenge will continue until the roof is fully painted.

Donations can be made by contacting Windsor Plywood or the Williams Lake Trail Riders Association.
