Fedorkiw Announces Candidacy in Cariboo-Prince George Riding
Nick Fedorkiw has announced that he will be a candidate in the Conservative nomination for Cariboo-Prince George.
Fedorkiw says running in the Conservative nomination has been in the back of his mind for a long time.
“The time seems right for me now that is because I think the overwhelming issue across this region is our natural resource-based economy and what that is going to look like over the next generation.”
Fedorkiw says he has a background in natural resource development and wants to make sure the economy of the region is developed to its full potential.
Fedorkiw adds that one of his highest priorities issues is democratic reform,
“I think our democratic institutions are very important and I think it’s something Canadians should be proud of…particularly when we look at the Senate and what’s been going on there in the last few years. I think it’s obvious we need to reform there. I would also like to make sure younger people participate in the electoral process as well.”
The next federal election is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 19, 2015.
