Your Team for the Sam Ketcham Pool Upgrade and Renovation Project

The full Sam Ketcham Project Team including Vic Davies Architecture (VDA) and Tango Project Management attended the Central Cariboo Joint Committee meeting on Wednesday to introduce themselves to the community and elected officials.

Kevin Klippenstein with VDA from Victoria, says he’s happy to be a part of the community.

“We do a lot of projects around the world but throughout BC we’ve worked all through the province and in remote places in Alberta and Manitoba.”

“Every time we go to the community, everyone’s a little different and a little bit special. It’s just a treat to start to get to know the community and help them on the way to have a really great community centre.”

When asked by Williams Lake City Councillor Scott Nelson if the 2-year $11.3 million dollar project will be on budget, Klippenstein says he sees no reason why it shouldn’t be.

“If for an architectural reason it’s not on budget, we’re not doing our job. Pure and simple and I think that Tango Management has the same attitude and all our consultants have the same attitude.”

“So if there is any reason it’s going to over budget, it’s not going to be because of this team. It will be through some unforeseen circumstance that nobody had any control over.”

The initial schematic design phase on the pool project is scheduled to be completed by July, with an open house for the public to review and comment on the proposed design on August 5th.

A construction team meanwhile, has yet to be selected.
