The Cariboo Regional District will be working with the Central Coast Regional District to promote the need for cellular service along the Highway 20 corridor.
Chair Al Richmond says they have been receiving ongoing requests from residents as other technologies have been removed from the area.
“They used to have a good radio network out there and since those systems have been largely dismantled, there’s very little for folks around the Highway 20 corridor.”
“The need for cellular service in today’s age of connectivity is paramount.”
Richmond says there are many gaps in other areas, including Horsefly and even between Williams Lake and Quesnel.
He says the CRD will be reporting these areas to the Canadian Radio and Television Commission for consideration
