A fire destroyed a landmark building in Alexis Creek early Friday morning.
No information has been released as yet as to what caused the Happy Eater restaurant to catch fire, but the building was totally destroyed. Rain in the area contained the fire and prevented the fire from destroying more buildings.
The fire broke out at about 3 am and closed Highway 20 temporarily.
The restaurant had been closed for the last few years.
