A 44-year-old man was in the wrong place at the wrong time Tuesday morning after attempting to steal money from a cash register at Granville’s Coffee in Quesnel.
Staff Sgt. Darren Dodge, says RCMP were able to arrest the suspect quite quickly.
“Fortunately for everyone involved there, police officers were sitting quite literally a few feet away from the incident when this occurred,” he said.
“Fortunately no one was hurt and it all worked out well.”
Putting their coffees aside, officers were able to arrest the suspect where he stood.
He is in custody facing a charge of Theft Under $5000.
