Cariboo Officers honored for efforts in fighting impaired driving and removing 192 drivers

Cariboo police officers were honored for their efforts fighting impaired driving Wednesday morning in Prince George.

Inspector Martin Day with the North District RCMP, says the Alexa’s Team ceremony was to recognize all of the 296 officers from across the province and their hard work.

“To become part of Alexa’s Team in a 1 year period, those officers have to investigate a minimum of 12 alcohol-impaired related investigations.”

“Impaired driving is one of those key things that is harming everyone on the roadways-the impaired driver as well as others.”

Removing 85 impaired drivers last year in Williams Lake are Constables Derek Henderson, Christopher Ives, Colin Champagne, and Daniel Cohen.

Removing 79 impaired drivers in Quesnel are Constables Kevan Cranmer and Courtney Cross and in 100 Mile is Constable Alex Hutt who removed 28 impaired drivers.
