Open House Discontentment

The discontent of an open house format sounded off at the Likely Community Hall last night.

Chairs filled the back of the Likely Community Hall with frustrated residents, as various representatives stood at booths awaiting to speak to community members.

Approximately 15 minutes passed before those in the seat, took to Imperial Metals’ Vice President of Corporate Affairs their dismay of the open house format.

Robertson responded by saying that Imperial will weigh their options going forward with future meetings.

Robertson added that despite their frustration, there are those who support an open-house format.

“We’re never opposed to making people’s views known…They do have to realize though we’ve received opinions from a lot of people…There were a lot of folks that really expressed an interest having more of an open house style because they wanted to avoid exactly that; the aggression and they wanted to be able to have a one on one conversation without having to get up in front of a hostile audience.”

The open house concluded at 9 pm with no word on when exactly the next meeting will take place or what format it would be.
