Mini Heat Wave to Hit Cariboo Region this weekend

The Cariboo will be getting some warmer than usual temperatures today and tomorrow.

Environment Canada, Meteorologist Andre Besson says it’s rare for this time of year.

“We’ve had events like this happen earlier in the season in previous years but this is definitely unusual.”

“Usually we do expect this trend to be later in the month and in July and August.”

Besson says although it appears temperatures will be breaking records in the province’s southern region, temperatures in the Cariboo will still be 1 to 2 degrees shy of hitting a record this weekend.

Warmer than normal conditions are expected to persist across the Central Interior and Coast from now and into the summer.
