Dorn returns to coach Two Rivers Boxing Club in Quesnel

Wally Dorn, a member of the BC Boxing Hall of Fame, is back as coach of the Two Rivers Boxing Club in Quesnel.

The 69-year old Dorn, who retired in 2013, says the family that was running the club was stepping down and he didn’t want to see it shut down.

Dorn says there are roughly 16 members right now and he says they are now looking for new members…

“The club is always open to people of all ages. A lot of people just come out just mainly for the cardio work out and to learn to box.”

“Along with learning to box, it’s quite a good exercise.”

Dorn says the more serious boxers will be able to go to out-of-town tournaments and Rumble number 19 is tentatively planned for Quesnel in November.

He says those interested can just come to practice on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays at the West Park Mall.
